Lynmuel Sam Ramos

Project Manager

Lynmuel Sam is a aspiring engineer with qualities of leadership developed over 4 years. He actively participates with his volunteer organization working with other member to develop and lead activities. With his background he has volunteered to be the project manager for the team.

Benjie Bersamira Jr.

Financial Manager

Benjie is an outgoing person and loves being active. He got into bicycles at an early age from his father who is an avid bike rider. With his active lifestyle, and involvement with bicycles, he will be one of the male drivers for this years team. Also, with experience in cost management from previous internships, Benjie was elected to be the Financial Manager for the team.

Ryan Chun

Frame Subsystem Lead/Systems Integrator

From a robotics class in middle school, Ryan discovered that he wanted to be an engineer and work with electrical and mechanical components when he grew up. His sophomore year in college, he worked on an Arduino project from which he manufactured automatic curtains using light and temperature sensors. He is also an athletic person who has been involved in sports since age five. Volunteering as one of the male drivers, he plans to lead his team to victory in the ASME HPVC.

Erwin Pastrana

Drive Train Subsystem Lead

Growing up Erwin’s dad was a mechanic and was a man who could do many things around the house like electrical or fixing things in general. A jack of all trades kind of person.  Erwin became an aspiring engineer to be able to do the same has his father. Being able to do things around the house or fixing many things. Erwin has been a youth leader for the past 4 years. Having the experience to communicate, work well with other leaders and taking a leadership role, he volunteered to be the Drivetrain lead.

Kyle Anthony Castillo

Fairing Subsystem Lead

Kyle excelled in his academic studies, particularly in subjects, such as mathematics, physics, and engineering. In middle school, he attended an after school robotics class. In high school, he helped design a cardboard boat that could carry a load of one person. In his university years, he assisted in designing and manufacturing a launcher for a fixed wing drone and in utilizing and coding a sensor to track the motion of a load falling with a parachute. Due to excelling in his Mechanics of Fluids course, he volunteered to take leadership as the HPV team’s fairing subsystem lead.

Christian Jaye Castillo

Frame Subsystem Member

Christian has been interested in science and engineering. In middle school, he worked on some robotics as an elective. In high school, he worked with a team to design a sturdy, waterproof boat made of cardboard for a sailing competition. In college at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, he helped design and test a launching subsystem for the drone project. He also worked with a team on testing and calculating the drag force of a parachute based on its surface area and payload, and now he’s working in the fairing subsystem to use his knowledge in fluids to design an effective fairing that can combat air resistance.

Dyaln Okada

Fairing Member

Dylan has been in multiple projects over his lifetime starting when he was in middle school in a robotics team as the lead. Then when he was in high school he was also the lead of a underwater ROV team. Then at University of Hawaii at Manoa he was part of a drone team as lead programmer. While in high school, he was a company commander with the rank of captain in JROTC. He also has some experience with SolidWorks. With his experience of leadership and experience in being a part of different projects.
